#017 — A Quiet Crossing
Last Tuesday, July 1st, the manuscript traveled to alpha readers.
A quiet crossing. A real one.
It may look like a small, unremarkable act: sending the pages. Yet to the part of the self trained by ambition to notice only noise, scale, and momentum, this quiet crossing is a magnificent data point. The work moved from one circle of holding into another.
The newsletter has been quiet this past week. So has the writer.
The days after a piece of work leaves your hands have their own shape. Part threshold, part echo. A waiting that is also a listening.
This has been an incredibly intense passage, the kind of intensity that comes when honesty asks for more than performance. Its reward is beauty, revealed slowly, after truth has been allowed to stand.
The book is still in motion. Still becoming. But last week, it entered another circle of care, and I have been letting that land.
One thing worth carrying: What in your life is ready to enter another circle of care?
